Gusina is a brand that carries the story of a family originating from Gusinje, Montenegro, and later migrating to Edirne, into the present day. With roots dating back to the 1930s and a culinary heritage extending into the 1960s, the brand today reflects a third-generation perspective shaped around a natural, local, artisanal, and seasonal approach to food. Drawing inspiration from both the Mediterranean and the United States, this philosophy is grounded in locally sourced ingredients, forming the foundation of Gusina’s contemporary identity.
Opened in August 2021 in Uskumruköy, Gusina in the Hood is the brand’s first restaurant designed as a living space that evolves throughout the day. Surrounded by nature, the two-level venue features a winter garden and an espresso bar, offering a layered experience that shifts with time while redefining a sense of neighborhood familiarity through its warm and welcoming atmosphere.
At its core, Gusina’s kitchen is built around production bringing together American and Italian culinary influences. A 40-year-old sourdough starter, ingredients sourced from local producers, and a seasonal approach form the backbone of this philosophy.
Beyond dining, the space extends into a market and bakery, becoming part of everyday life where guests can both spend time and shop. The day begins with bakery offerings, moves into pizza throughout the day, and transitions into a more social atmosphere in the evening, accompanied by music-led moments.
